What Your Horoscope Says About Your Model UN Delegate Style

Capricorn December 22- January 19

Definitely representing a member of the P5, yet in a committee other than the security council. Imposing their views on smaller “developing” nations while wearing an accent piece, they will be the first to cry in the bathroom after their resolution fails.

Aquarius January 21- February 19

Described as humanitarian and clever, an Aquarius in committee can be found urging for greater awareness and expresses genuine concern for “the children”. Slightly more rebellious than other delegates, Aquarius can be found whispering to neighbors and may even dare to check their phones.

Pisces February 20 – March 20

This delegate may never be a sponsor, but they will most likely be a signatory on every resolution. Quick to withdraw from debate when challenged by a power delegate, Pisces will remind their new friends to stay hydrated and eat during breaks.

Aries March 21- April 19

Aries are not afraid to yell during the first committee session. They will be the first to motion for the censorship of a country they should be working with, and will abuse the right of reply despite never being granted the permission to speak. In all fairness, they honestly believe their right.

Taurus April 20- May 20

Adamant gavel hunter, wearing a tailored pant suit and irons their placard before committee. They will flatter the chair and chooses sparkling over still water. Their most comment motion will be a point of personal privilege, and will only ever be heard during dais feedback.

Gemini May 21- June 20

A Gemini will sponsor the most opposing resolutions and stutters at every speech. Will withdraw as a signatory as an act of spite, when plans to meet up before the social fall through. Won’t ever confirm their attendance at the committee dinner, but will write a review for the restaurant nonetheless.

Cancer June 21 – July 22

They will write a working paper with a country based solely on the fact they sat together during opening ceremonies. A dais would describe them as a leader when speaking to their faculty advisor, but fellow delegates might err on the more vulgar side.

Leo July 23- August 22

The Leo in the committee is the first to put forth a comprehensive, four-point framework centered around action, accountability, and effectiveness. They are looking to enact real change using NGO’s and the creation of UN sub-bodies. They live in fear of being placed in a committee where the Dais might not know the most obscure rules of procedure.

Virgo August 23 – September 22

Virgos joined Model UN to change the world, but get caught up in the politics of their delegation and frequently refer to the conference as “the last on they will do”. They’ve read the background guide inside out, and would feel much more at home in Legal Committee than the joint-crisis they’ve been thrown into. They look forward to the diplomatic reception, and are considering attending the social event as it presents a good opportunity to network.

Libra September 23 – October 22

Libras avoid confrontation at all cost, and will agree to not going up for the Q&A after drafting the entire working paper. When asked how the committee is going, they will put on a brave face but they are just waiting for closing ceremonies and hoping their faculty advisors weren’t lying when they said chairs recognize hard work.

Scorpio October 23 – November 21

If this delegate is not assigned a crisis committee, they will complain non-stop to whoever cares to listen. In the case that they are, this delegate will turn on their allies, murder characters assigned to those in their delegation, and plot ruthlessly right up until superlatives.

Sagittarius November 22 – December 21

In a crisis committee, they will shift their focus towards moving committee along. They won’t kill or plot a coup against anyone, but will undoubtedly end up dead. Hopefully, the delegate responsible for their death will apologize during a recess, but knowing the people that do Model UN, they won’t. However, they will undoubtedly humble brag about it to their friends.
