UNOOSA: Cooperation still strong despite tensions between US and China

Countries are hard at work for solutions on the future of space development

Countries are hard at work for solutions on the future of space development

Day 2 and tensions are rising since the get go this morning in the committee room as the United States and China as they are repeatedly attacking each on the control and share of space exploration and development.

The two countries are continually opposing each other with accusations such as having a monopoly over the space industry and not letting other countries have a chance to develop.

However, many other countries really push for the discussion of unity rather than divisive rhetoric such as deciding who has control of the whole industry. They opt to rather discuss education for the youth, development of satellites and more development of the private industry. Yet again Russia is still at the forefront of the discussion, setting the tone that they are an uniter rather than a divider. Russia has pushing for more unity of this matter, managing to get China and the United States to push aside their differences and support their cause on the development of the space industry and wants to make sure all countries work together rather than making enemies with each other.

Currently, the countries are in the process of drafting resolutions and proposing actual solutions to this issue.
